Arsenal’s Next Attacking Target After Gyokeres Revealed

Arsenal’s summer transfer activity is far from over, with trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano reporting that the club are still considering the addition of another attacking player. Among the names under strong consideration is Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, who continues to be viewed as a prime target by Mikel Arteta and the recruitment team.

Even with the imminent arrival of Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting Lisbon to fill the centre-forward role, Arsenal are determined to strengthen their attacking options further. Eze, a versatile and technically gifted playmaker, is admired not only for his creativity and flair but also for his ability to play across multiple positions in the final third.

Eze’s Versatility Appeals to Arteta

What makes Eze particularly appealing to Arteta is his flexibility. He can operate as a No. 10, out wide on either flank, or in a more central attacking midfield role. That tactical adaptability is something Arteta values highly as he continues to evolve Arsenal’s attacking structure.

Eze has matured into one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Premier League over the past two seasons. His blend of dribbling, acceleration, close control, and end product make him a nightmare for defenders. Last season, the 27-year-old registered 11 goals and 6 assists in the league for Palace, consistently standing out even in difficult matches.

His ability to carry the ball through midfield, draw defenders, and link up play with forwards would give Arsenal an extra creative edge, particularly in games where space is limited and opponents sit deep.

Price and Competition a Factor

While Eze remains a strong option, Arsenal are weighing the financial aspects carefully. The Crystal Palace man has a release clause in the region of £60–65 million, which any interested club would have to trigger. Though Arsenal have shown they are willing to invest heavily—as seen with Gyökeres—they are also conscious of staying within reasonable financial parameters.

There is also interest in Eze from other top clubs in the Premier League and abroad, though it is believed the player would be open to the move should Arsenal act on their long-standing admiration.

Squad Depth and Injury Concerns Drive Pursuit

Arteta has been clear that the club need more attacking depth, especially with the intensity of a full season ahead that includes the Champions League, Premier League, and domestic competitions. With Bukayo Saka suffering from repeated knocks last season and Gabriel Martinelli’s form dipping at times, an additional offensive player is seen as a necessity rather than a luxury.

Adding someone like Eze would ease the creative burden on Martin Ødegaard and allow for greater rotation without compromising quality.

One to Watch

Fabrizio Romano’s update confirms that Eze remains firmly on Arsenal’s radar. While a move is not yet imminent, the club are expected to keep close tabs on his situation over the coming weeks. Whether Arsenal choose to trigger his release clause or attempt a different structure remains to be seen.

For now, the message is clear: Arsenal aren’t done yet. Eberechi Eze could still be the next big name through the door at the Emirates.
