Arsenal set their asking price for Jakub Kiwior
Incoming Juventus manager Thiago Motta has made a “specific request” for the club to sign Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior, but the Italian giants are facing a hefty price tag for the Polish international.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Arsenal have set their asking price for Kiwior at €20 million, a fee that Juventus deem to be “excessive.” The Bianconeri are keen on signing the 24-year-old, who impressed in spells covering at left-back for the Gunners during the latter half of the season. However, they are reluctant to meet Arsenal’s demands and believe the Gunners could lower their asking price later in the summer transfer window.
Kiwior arrived at Arsenal in January 2023 from Spezia, but he struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in Mikel Arteta’s side. He made just 17 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, mainly featuring as a back-up to the formidable centre-back partnership of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.
Despite his limited playing time, Kiwior’s performances have caught the eye of Motta, who is eager to bolster his defensive ranks ahead of the upcoming season. However, Juventus’s reluctance to meet Arsenal’s asking price suggests a potential stalemate in negotiations. It remains to be seen whether Juventus will be willing to pay the price for Kiwior, or if they will turn their attention elsewhere in the transfer market.
The summer transfer window is still in its early stages, and the situation surrounding Kiwior’s future could change rapidly.
