Noni Madueke to Arsenal: £52m Deal Completed, Medical Date Revealed

Arsenal have completed the signing of exciting winger Noni Madueke from Chelsea in a blockbuster £52 million deal, with all documents now exchanged between the two clubs. The highly anticipated move marks another statement of intent from Mikel Arteta’s side as they continue to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed the breakthrough on X, posting that the agreement between Arsenal and Chelsea is now officially sealed. Madueke is scheduled to undergo his medical over the weekend before putting pen to paper on a five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium.

The total package for the 22-year-old England international is understood to be worth £52 million, inclusive of add-ons. This follows swift and productive negotiations between the two London rivals, made smoother by their solid working relationship behind the scenes.

Madueke, who joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023, has shown glimpses of brilliance in the Premier League with his pace, directness, and flair on the ball. Though his opportunities at Stamford Bridge were inconsistent, Arsenal believe the winger has untapped potential that can flourish under Arteta’s coaching system.

The player had already agreed to personal terms with Arsenal earlier in the week, and his desire to make the switch played a key role in accelerating the deal. Madueke was reportedly attracted to Arsenal’s playing style, the chance to compete for major honours, and the opportunity to work under Arteta, who is known for nurturing young talent.

Internally, the Gunners view Madueke as a versatile winger capable of playing on both flanks, though he is most dangerous cutting in from the right on his stronger left foot. His arrival will provide valuable depth and competition for Bukayo Saka, who has shouldered a heavy workload over the past few seasons.

Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has played a pivotal role in getting the deal across the line. With Champions League football returning to the Emirates and the club pushing for silverware, there has been a clear emphasis on strengthening squad depth and quality across the board.

For Chelsea, the sale represents a profitable piece of business in line with their strategy to streamline the squad and balance Financial Fair Play considerations. Despite Madueke’s clear talent, the player was not guaranteed a key role under new manager Enzo Maresca — and ultimately made the decision to leave in pursuit of more playing time and a more defined role.

Madueke is expected to complete his medical and finalise the formalities in the next 48 hours. If all goes according to plan, he will be announced as an Arsenal player early next week and join up with his new teammates for pre-season preparations.

This move not only bolsters Arsenal’s front line but also signals their continued ambition to build a squad capable of competing at the highest level, both domestically and in Europe.
