REVEALED: The only statistic that Arsenal underperformed in last season

The gunners were one of the best teams in the Premier Lgeagurede last season and the only statistic they underperformed in has been revealed.

Arsenal’s dominant 2023/24 Premier League campaign, culminating in a second-place finish with 89 points, was a testament to their attacking prowess and tactical discipline. However, a closer look at the statistics reveals a surprising weakness: the Gunners’ lack of a long-range threat.

Despite their impressive tally of goals, a staggering six out of their 89 goals were scored from outside the penalty area. This stark statistic highlights a reliance on close-range finishes and a lack of impactful shots from distance. In contrast, champions Manchester City showcased a potent long-range shooting ability, netting significantly more goals from outside the box.

This weakness could have proved costly in tight encounters. The ability to unlock defenses with a well-placed shot from distance is a valuable asset in any game, but particularly crucial against teams who set up defensively, as Arsenal often faced.

While Arsenal boasts a wealth of attacking talent, the lack of a consistent long-range threat could be a cause for concern as they aim to close the gap on Manchester City next season. Strengthening this area of their game could be crucial to their title aspirations, adding another dimension to their already formidable attack.
