Arsenal star closes in on move to Burnley as Arteta revamp continues

Arsenal has already made some new signings in this summer transfer window and Mikel Arteta will want to trim on his current squad, and it looks like one of the exits is happening.

Talks are advancing between Arsenal and newly promoted Burnley for the potential transfer of 23-year-old midfielder Sambi Lokonga. The negotiations are centered around a loan deal with an option to buy, which could become mandatory if Lokonga plays a certain number of matches for the Clarets as per Mercato.

Lokonga had initially considered a move to Spain. However, Vincent Kompany’s Burnley emerged as the most concrete solution for the talented midfielder. Joining Burnley would provide Lokonga with an opportunity to showcase his skills and prove that he is ready for the challenges of the Premier League.

The possibility of Lokonga not getting sufficient playing time at Arsenal next season has arisen due to the club’s recent signings of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz. With these new additions, competition for midfield spots has intensified, making it difficult for Lokonga to secure regular minutes on the pitch.

A loan move to Burnley could be an ideal solution for both parties involved. It would allow Lokonga to gain valuable experience in one of the toughest leagues in the world while also giving him a chance to adapt to English football. Additionally, it would provide Burnley with a talented young midfielder who can contribute immediately.

Lokonga’s potential arrival at Turf Moor would bolster Burnley’s midfield options and add depth to their squad as they prepare for their return to the Premier League. The Belgian international possesses excellent technical abilities and has shown great potential during his time at Arsenal.

As negotiations progress between Arsenal and Burnley, fans will be eagerly awaiting news on whether Lokonga will make the move to Lancashire. If all goes well, this transfer could prove beneficial for both clubs involved and provide Lokonga with an opportunity to shine in England’s top flight.
