Arsenal receive good news on their hopes of signing Ilkay Gundogan

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been linked with a move to Arsenal over the last few weeks and the gunners have received good news on their hopes of getting him.

Ilkay Gundogan’s agent, Ilhan, has opened up about the future of his client who has been linked with a free move to Arsenal in this summer transfer window. The midfielder will be a free agent at the end of this month and Manchester City are trying to extend his deal but Arsenal are also pushing to sign him.

The 32-year-old German international had an outstanding season with Manchester City, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in the recently finished Premier League. He was instrumental in helping City win their third Premier League title in four years.

Arsenal were in a fierce title race with Manchester City in a bid to win the 2022/23 Premier League title but a defeat against Nottingham Forest in their 37th game week saw them lose the trophy to The Citizens. Arsenal ended the season with 84 points while Manchester City finished with 89 points.

Despite finishing second, Arsenal had led the league table for 10 months this season and they will be looking to strengthen their squad ahead of next season. Gundogan has been identified as one of their top targets and reports have suggested that he has already committed to staying at Manchester City.

However, Ilhan Gundogan has denied these reports via Fabrizio Romano and said that nothing has been agreed with City or any other club. He added that Ilkay is only focused on the Champions League final, which will take place soon.

It remains to be seen where Gundogan will end up next season but he would be a valuable addition to any team. His ability to score goals from midfield and create chances for his teammates makes him one of the best midfielders in Europe.

Arsenal will be hoping that they can convince him to join them as they look to challenge for the Premier League title next season. However, they will face stiff competition from other top clubs who are also interested in signing him.

In conclusion, Ilkay Gundogan’s future remains uncertain but one thing is for sure, he will be a highly sought-after player this summer. It will be interesting to see where he ends up and how he performs next season.
