Arsenal discover the games Thomas Partey is set to miss through injury

Arsenal have discovered the extent of Partey's ankle injury and when he could possibly return.

Thomas Partey picked up an ankle injury in last week’s friendly match against Chelsea after a challenge from Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The injury left fans disappointed as they were eager to see the Ghanaian midfielder start his second season in north London in top shape.

“Thomas sustained an injury to ligaments in his right ankle during the friendly match against Chelsea last Sunday,” a statement read. “He continues to be assessed and is expected to be back in training in approximately three weeks”.

This means Partey will most likely return to action after the first international break. Specifically he Partey could return on September 11 when Arsenal taken on Norwich City in their fourth League match.

Therefore, Partey will miss the season opener against Brentford and the two big matches against Chelsea and Manchester City before the international break.
