Transfer News: Latest ins and outs plus players linked with a move

The latest Arsenal transfer news and reports on players coming in and going out of the club.

The winter transfer window has already opened and Arsenal looking to offload some players and maybe sign one or two.

Here are the players who have left Arsenal or are close to an exit:

Sead Kolasinac

It is confirmed by Arsenal that Kolasinac will return to his former side Schalke. The Bosnian left-back will spend the rest of the season on loan in the German Bundesliga.

Technical director Edu on the transfer: “Sead needs to be playing regularly, so we have decided together that a move back to Germany with Schalke will benefit him at this moment. We will be keeping in close contact with Sead, and wish him huge success for the remainder of the season with Schalke.”

William Saliba

Arsenal’s highly rated young centre-back who completed a move to Arsenal close to £30m in 2019 is yet to make an appearance for Arsenal.

It is quite surprising because he was expected to walk straight into the first team given the quality of central defenders Arsenal had and how talented he was seen.

But Arteta deemed him unready for the first team and thus he has been featuring for the U23s making him unhappy.

According to BBC Sport Saliba will be loaned out to French club Nice until the end of the season.

“To be fair, he’s made massive improvements in the last few months and it’s been a really tricky situation for him. Arteta said.

“As I mentioned before, we designed a pathway for him and there were a lot of things that happened to him in his personal life and professionally as well.

“Now we’ve made some steps forwards, he’s working really hard and played for the under-21s again.”

Sokratis

Reports suggest the out of favour defender could have his contract terminated or get sold off with Napoli and Olympiakos registering interest, but nothing official yet.

No new arrivals at Arsenal yet but various reports continue to link Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia with a move to Arsenal.

The Argentine can play as a winger or an attacking midfielder and could be brought in to solve Arsenal’s creativity gap.
