Predicted Arsenal lineup to face Southampton with all eyes on Lacazette and Saka

Arsenal will in a few hours from now face Southampton away from home and here is the predicted lineup of the gunners with all eyes on Lacazette and Saka.

Arsenal will today face Southampton just three days after meeting each other in the Emirates FA Cup and this will be a perfect opportunity for Mikel Arteta to show that he was justified in resting most of his first team last weekend. Arsenal will need to win this game to keep their UEFA Champions League hopes alive and so here is the predicted lineup of the North Londoners with all eyes on Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette.

PREDICTED ARSENAL LINEUP TO FACE SOUTHAMPTON

TEXT FORM: Leno, Cedric, Gabriel, Holding, Bellerin, Xhaka, Partey, Willian, Emile Smith Rowe, Saka, Lacazette

GOALKEEPING:

Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno will be in between the goal posts today as he is not only their first choice goalkeeper but also on a run of five consecutive clean sheets.

DEFENCE:

Kieran Tierney is a doubt for this game as per the latest team news from the club and Pablo Mari will miss the game. So Arsenal’s back four is likely to consist of Cedric, Gabriel, Holding, Bellerin. Cedric would be filling in at left back as the gunners have no left back available after departure of Sead Kolasinac.

CENTRAL MIDFIELD:

Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka seem to be Mikel Arteta’s preferred midfield duo and so it will likely be used again in today’s game against The Saints.

ATTACKING MIDFIELD:

Aubameyang has been mostly deployed as a winger in recent games but he won’t take part in the game due to personal family reasons as per the club and so he could be replaced by Willian. So Arsenal’s attacking midfield will consist of Willian, Smith Rowe and Saka.

STRIKING:

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has been on form in the last few weeks and so he will definitely lead the line for the gunners today as they try to beat the Saints.

  • If Arteta really want to keep Balogan, then he must start playing the young talent otherwise he is leaving. In Balogan, I can easily see another Thiery Henry re-emerging at Arsenal. Willian is a total failure and as such he must never be anywhere in the first team unless Arteta is in love with him. He has had so many chances but failed to justify his selection.
