Mikel Arteta provides a transfer update on Arsenal’s possible summer business

Arsenal now have a few days to complete their transfer business and Mikel Arteta has provided an update on what they'll be doing in the next few days.

Arsenal have so far only completed the signing of Willian, Chambers, Runarsson and Gabriel Magalhaes in this summer transfer window and even though they have had a good start to the campaign, their performances have shown that they might need new reinforcements especially in the midfield area. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a transfer update about their plans as we wait for the closure of the window on Monday.

Arsenal finished off last season on high as they won the Emirates FA Cup but that victory didn’t hide the fact that they finished the campaign in the eighth position on the Premier League table and so everyone expected them to be one of the busiest clubs in this summer transfer window but they have however only got four new signings and a few departures.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been confident throughout this transfer window starting with the Saka, Gabriel and Aubameyang sagas and he was today asked about what the club plans to do in these two remaining days and he claimed that he is still, confident in what they are doing and that he has full support from everyone as they try to improve the squad for this 2020/21 campaign.

“Well, I am very confident in what we are trying to do internally. [I am getting] clarity and support from everybody at the club to try and improve the team if we can.” Mikel Arteta told Arsenal Media.

“But most importantly as well, to get the right balance in the squad, for now and the way we want to evolve the squad in the future. We are all very much aligned but I’m afraid that I cannot give you any updates or news.”

The Arsenal fans will be hopeful that Arteta talking about improving the squad hints at them trying to bring in new players as their midfield has so far received a lot of criticism.
