Report: Paris Saint Germain submit £25million bid for Arsenal defender

French Ligue one side Paris Saint Germain have reportedly submitted an offer of £25million plus add-ons of £5million for an Arsenal defender.

Arsenal will be busy in this year’s summer transfer window because Mikel Arteta will want to revamp his squad ahead of the new 2020/21 season. The gunners are said to have put most players on the transfer list and it’s now being reported that Paris Saint Germain have made an offer for Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin.

Hector Bellerin hasn’t been at his best in the last 12 months due to the knee injury that he sustained at the start of 2019 in a match against Chelsea and he has since then never been the same as he has been in and out of the squad due to complications. The Arsenal fans have however been happy with how he had performed in the last matches of last season and the recent FA Community Shield victory but it now looks like he could be on his way out.

The Guardian is reporting that French Ligue one Champions Paris Saint Germain have made an offer of £25million plus add-ons of £5million for Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin as they are looking to strengthen their defence for next season after having lost to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League final. The report claims that Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain have been talking for a while and that even though Arsenal could be forced to sell if a right offer comes in, gunners head coach Mikel Arteta will be unhappy as Bellerin is among the players that he would love to keep.

Bellerin’s current deal will end in 2023 and so the club will be hoping to get more funds from Paris Saint Germain as it’s claimed in the above report that they have to sell players to fund the signing of their other targets. It is not clear if Bellerin is also interested in a move away from Arsenal since he has been at the North London club since he was a teenager.
