Saliba and Dani Ceballos speak out on joining Arsenal

William Saliba and Dani Ceballos were both announced as Arsenal players yesterday and they have spoken out about coming to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal was busy yesterday as it announced the arrival of both William Saliba and Dani Ceballos after getting linked with them for weeks. The fans were probably delighted that their club brought in two more additions to their squad since they had only signed Gabriel Martinelli.

Dani Ceballos arrives at Arsenal on a season long loan from Real Madrid and the gunners will be hoping to utilise him well in these twelve months as he could help them to get into the UEFA Champions League spots. The Spanish midfielder had an incredible performance in the UEFA EURO U-21 tournament and he comes at the Emirates Stadium after having rejected the chance to join Tottenham Hotspur.

Dani Ceballos became Arsenal’s second signing of this summer transfer window and the central midfielder said that he was pleased to join the North Londoners because it’s a historical club. He also spoke of how Emery influenced his decision to join Arsenal.

“First of all, thanks very much. I’m really proud to be able to wear this shirt. I’m joining an historic Premier League side and it’s a step forward in my career.” said Dani Ceballos.

William Saliba also arrived at Arsenal from Saint-Etienne yesterday on a fee believed to be around €29million and add-ons and he got announced by the club on the same day. Saliba’s arrival was very special for the Arsenal fans as his move to the Emirates was almost hijacked by Tottenham Hotspur who are the arch rivals of the gunners but the 18-year-old still chose Arsenal as his preferred destination.

William Saliba is a highly rated young centre back and the gunners will be glad that they have got him secured even if it means that they will have to loan him back to Saint-Etienne. Here is what he had to say about joining the gunners.

“Well, first of all, it’s a massive pleasure to sign for a really, really big English club. This is the biggest club in England for me, so it was an easy decision. I didn’t think twice about signing here, so I’m really happy.” William Saliba told Arsenal’s official website.
