Arsenal Vs Saints: Predicted XI with all eyes on Lacazette and Ozil

The gunners will today be hoping to get three points from their match against Southampton this afternoon.

Arsenal will face Southampton today afternoon and it will be a match which the gunners must win if they want to play UEFA Champions League next season. Even though the gunners won three nil on Thursday, Unai Emery is expected to make some changes to the team that played, the Arsenal fans will be hoping that Mesut Ozil and Lacazette start.

PREDICTED ARSENAL LINEUP TO FACE SOUTHAMPTON

Leno, Lichtsteiner, Sokratis, Mustafi, Monreal, Torreira, Xhaka, Suarez, Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette

FORMATION: 4-2-3-1

Goalkeeping:

Bernd Leno is Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper so he will of course be in the starting eleven that plays this afternoon. The Arsenal fans will be hoping that he keeps a clean sheet because he let in three goals, the last time these two clubs met.

Defence:

Laurent Koscielny got injured on Thursday so even if he is already back, the boss might decide to bench him hence Mustafi and Sokratis getting paired in today’s match. Stephan Lichtsteiner was impressive vs Bate Borisov so he might get picked over Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Monreal is better than Kolasinac in a back four.

Central midfield:

Matteo Guendouzi has been overused and Unai Emery will not want to see him get fatigued so Arsenal’s central midfield will consist of Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka.

Attacking Midfield:

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has not given Denis Suarez a start yet because three of their last four matches have been away from home but the Spaniard could finally be in the starting eleven this afternoon. Aubameyang might start on the wing so that Lacazette also starts in the striking role while Mesut Ozil plays as a central attacking midfielder. So Arsenal’s attacking trio will consist of Aubameyang, Ozil and Suarez.

Striking:

Alexandre Lacazette has been impressive in the last few weeks so he will be in the starting eleven that faces Southampton.
