Arsenal faces Southampton today at the St. Mary’s Stadium and the gunners come into this match well knowing that they need all the three points to either get back or stay close to the Premier League top four. Unai Emery will however get a headache in choosing the lineup that plays today because Mustafi and Sokratis will miss this game.
EXPECTED ARSENAL LINEUP TO FACE SOUTHAMPTON
Leno, Bellerin, Lichtsteiner, Koscielny, Monreal, Kolasinac, Torreira, Xhaka, Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette
Formation: 3-4-1-2
Goalkeeping:
Bernd Leno has been impressive this season and will probably be in between the goal posts today.
Defence:
Unai Emery has started using three at the back in the Premier League. Laurent Koscielny is the only available centre back and will probably be partnered with Nacho Monreal and Stephan Lichtsteiner.
Wing backs:
Sead Kolasinac and Hector Bellerin have been impressive on the wings this season so it won’t be a surprise if Unai Emery starts them again against Southampton.
Central Midfield:
Granit Xhaka will be paired with Lucas Torreira because these two have been great together in the last few weeks.
Attacking Midfield:
Unai Emery has been using a complicated formation and this 3-4-1-2 would see Mesut Ozil in the CAM position so that he can be giving the ball to the two strikers upfront.
Striking:
Aubameyang and Lacazette have both said that they want to be playing in a striking role so they could today be paired together.
