Arsenal Interested In Signing Sampdoria’s Lucas Torreira

Arsenal have been busy in this transfer window as new manager Unai Emery looks to build his team and it is now reported that Lucas Torreira is close to joining Arsenal.

The gunners seem to have made strengthening their defence their top priority in this summer transfer window but they have also been linked with a move for Sampdoria’s defensive midfielder Lucas Torreira.

Arsenal have already made their first signing after confirming the signing of Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus who came to the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer and it is also believed that the gunners are also on the verge of completing the signing of Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

So the gunners aren’t done yet signing as it’s now been reported that the gunners would like to sign Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria because they are un sure about the availability of their central midfielders because Jack Wilshere hasn’t signed a new deal and the fans weren’t impressed with the performance of Granit Xhaka last season.

Sky Sports Italy claims that Unai Emery has been told to pay the release clause of Lucas Torreira which is £22 million if they would like to get the Uruguayan international and he is with the national team now as they get ready for the World Cup.

There has been rumours going on that Arsenal would like to sign Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini in this summer transfer window so they reports linking the gunners to Lucas Torreira could imply that the negotiations with the red devil didn’t go through as expected but nothing is confirmed yet.
