Arsenal Open Exit Talks for Two Stars  Amid Squad Overhaul

Arsenal are actively working to streamline their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, with Reiss Nelson and Fábio Vieira among the players the club is now looking to move on. According to The Times, Fulham and Parma are among the clubs that have expressed interest in the two fringe stars.

Reiss Nelson, who spent last season on loan at Fulham, could be heading back to Craven Cottage after the west London club indicated their desire to bring him back — though only on another temporary deal. Despite showing glimpses of his talent during his spell with Fulham, Arsenal appear unconvinced by his long-term prospects at the Emirates. The Gunners are open to a permanent sale, but Fulham are currently pushing for a second loan.

Nelson, 25, has struggled to cement a consistent place in Mikel Arteta’s plans since emerging from Arsenal’s academy. While he has delivered the occasional big moment — including that unforgettable late winner against Bournemouth in 2023 — he has not developed into a regular starter. With Arsenal looking to raise funds and make space for incoming signings, now appears to be the right time for both parties to move on.

Meanwhile, Fábio Vieira is attracting attention from Serie B champions Parma, who have reportedly enquired about a permanent move. Vieira has endured a frustrating spell at Arsenal since joining from Porto for £34 million in 2022. A mix of injuries and inconsistency has limited his ability to break into the starting XI, and the club is now willing to let him go — but only if their valuation is met.

According to The Times, Arsenal are asking for £20 million for Vieira. While Parma may struggle to meet that figure outright, they are exploring potential options that could include structured payments or add-ons. The Portuguese midfielder, 24, is keen to play regular football after another injury-disrupted season, and a move away from north London looks increasingly likely.

Arteta and Arsenal’s sporting hierarchy are focused on both strengthening key areas of the squad and trimming the wage bill. With major signings like Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyökeres either completed or nearing finalisation, outgoings are now seen as essential to balance the books and keep the squad manageable.

Nelson and Vieira are just two of several players potentially on the move. Leandro Trossard, Jakub Kiwior, and Oleksandr Zinchenko have also been linked with exits, as Arsenal prepare for another campaign in which they hope to challenge for the Premier League title and make a deeper run in the Champions League.

The coming days could be decisive, with both Fulham and Parma expected to intensify negotiations. For Arsenal, offloading these fringe players at the right price will be crucial to unlocking the final stages of their summer recruitment strategy. As the market heats up, fans can expect plenty more movement in and out of the Emirates.
