Arsenal Official Lineup To Face Brentford Revealed

Arsenal have officially named their starting XI to face Brentford in a crucial Premier League fixture just minutes away from kickoff. With momentum riding high after their sensational midweek victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League, manager Mikel Arteta has opted to rotate his squad slightly — balancing the need to maintain form with managing player fitness.

Starting XI: David Raya keeps his place in goal, continuing to provide a solid presence between the posts. Interestingly, Thomas Partey is set to start at right-back, a role he has occasionally occupied before. William Saliba and Jakub Kiwior form the central defensive pairing, while Kieran Tierney returns to the starting lineup at left-back, offering width and energy on the flank.

In midfield, Arteta fields a creative and disciplined trio. Jorginho brings experience and composure, while Declan Rice, fresh off a historic brace against Madrid, remains a pivotal figure in both defense and attack. Oleksandr Zinchenko slots into midfield again, showcasing his versatility and ball retention skills.

Further forward, the lineup has a youthful and dynamic look. Ethan Nwaneri, the 17-year-old wonderkid, starts in the attacking midfield role, getting a massive vote of confidence from the manager. On the flanks, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard provide the pace, dribbling, and cutting edge that could prove vital in breaking down Brentford’s resilient back line.

Substitutes: The bench offers strong reinforcement if needed. Young goalkeeper Neto is joined by defensive options like Jurrien Timber and Myles Lewis-Skelly, with Mauro Bandeira and the energetic Henry-Francis also available. Captain Martin Ødegaard, Bukayo Saka, and Raheem Sterling provide creative and attacking firepower should Arsenal need to change gears late in the game. Riccardo Merino, another recent standout, rounds off a well-balanced bench.

Arteta’s selection suggests a measured but attacking approach. By giving Zinchenko and Partey hybrid roles, he’s aiming to dominate the midfield and control possession — a key strategy against a physical Brentford side known for their directness and pressing intensity. The inclusion of Nwaneri is also telling: Arteta continues to put faith in the club’s next generation, confident they can deliver on the big stage.

This match is particularly significant as Arsenal continue to chase the Premier League title. Any slip-ups could prove costly, especially with rivals also in action this weekend. The Gunners will need to be at their best, not just technically but mentally, to navigate what could be a tricky test against Thomas Frank’s well-drilled side.

As kickoff approaches, all eyes will be on how this slightly experimental lineup performs. With big names on the bench and youth in the spotlight, Arsenal fans will be hoping that this blend of experience and exuberance is enough to secure another vital three points on the road to glory.

Arsenal XI vs. Brentford: Raya; Partey, Saliba, Kiwior, Tierney; Jorginho, Rice, Zinchenko; Nwaneri, Martinelli, Trossard.

Arsenal subs: Neto, Timber, Lewis-Skelly, Henry-Francis, Ødegaard, Saka, Sterling, Butler-Oyedeji, Merino.
