Arsenal’s Predicted Lineup vs Real Madrid

Arsenal head into the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against Real Madrid with a commanding 3-0 lead, but Mikel Arteta knows the job is far from done. Tonight, at the legendary Santiago Bernabéu, the Gunners must be tactically perfect and mentally strong to finish what they started at the Emirates.

Here’s how Arsenal are expected to line up in a bold 4-3-3 formation that balances control, discipline, and attacking threat:

Predicted Arsenal XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Merino, Martinelli

Goalkeeper: David Raya
Raya remains the clear first-choice goalkeeper. His calmness under pressure and exceptional distribution will be crucial, especially against a high-pressing Real Madrid side desperate to turn the tide. He’ll need to be alert to deal with long-range efforts and crosses into the box.

Defence: Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly
With Ben White not fully fit and Oleksandr Zinchenko possibly needed further forward, Arteta may opt to start Jurrien Timber at right-back. Timber’s athleticism and tactical awareness could prove key to nullifying Real Madrid’s wide threats.

William Saliba will anchor the defense alongside Jakub Kiwior, who has impressed in recent appearances with his composure and positional sense. At left-back, teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly could be given a shock start. His defensive intelligence and energy have caught Arteta’s eye, and he may be trusted to handle the pressure of such a massive night.

Midfield: Ødegaard, Partey, Rice
Captain Martin Ødegaard is expected to lead the team from midfield. His creativity and vision will be critical in breaking Madrid’s press and linking up with the front three.

Thomas Partey is set to return to the starting XI, adding steel and experience to the midfield. If fully fit, his ability to intercept and transition quickly will be essential.

Declan Rice will complete the midfield trio, bringing balance, drive, and leadership. His ability to cover ground and control the tempo could determine whether Arsenal can silence the Bernabéu crowd.

Attack: Saka, Merino, Martinelli
Bukayo Saka, now fit and raring to go, will resume his usual role on the right wing. The England international will look to exploit any space behind Real Madrid’s backline, particularly on the counterattack.

In the central striker role, Mikel Merino could be deployed in a false nine capacity. Though typically a midfielder, Merino’s physicality and link-up play could be used to disrupt Madrid’s centre-backs and allow Saka and Martinelli to run in behind.

Gabriel Martinelli will take his place on the left flank, aiming to use his pace and flair to challenge Dani Carvajal. Martinelli’s directness could be a major weapon on the break.

Conclusion
With a mixture of youth, experience, and tactical versatility, this predicted Arsenal XI reflects Arteta’s trust in his squad’s depth and his willingness to make bold decisions on big European nights. If the Gunners execute their game plan with focus and intensity, they could secure one of the most memorable results in the club’s modern history.
