Arsenal fans finally receive confirmation on whether they will sign a player in next few hours

Arsenal fans hoping for a last-minute signing before the January transfer window slams shut are set for disappointment. Respected journalist David Ornstein has confirmed that the Gunners are not expected to make any new additions in the final hours of the window.

When asked whether Arsenal would be doing any business before the deadline, Ornstein responded bluntly: “Not to my knowledge.” This statement all but confirms that Mikel Arteta’s side will finish the winter window without any reinforcements, despite links to several players over the past few weeks.

Arsenal had been exploring potential moves for attacking reinforcements, with Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel among the names mentioned. However, the club has opted against making any panic buys, choosing instead to stick with their current squad for the rest of the season.

This news will likely frustrate fans who had been hoping for a big signing to boost Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge. With injuries affecting key players and squad depth being a concern, many believed the Gunners needed at least one major addition. However, the club appears to be taking a cautious approach, preferring to wait until the summer for any significant moves.

The focus will now shift to how Arsenal can navigate the remainder of the campaign with their existing squad. Arteta will be relying on the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard, and Declan Rice to push the team forward in their bid to chase down league leaders Liverpool.

With the window now winding down, all eyes will be on Arsenal’s performance in the coming months. Will the decision to stay inactive in January prove wise, or will it come back to haunt them in their quest for silverware?
