Riccardo Calafiori reveals Arsenal’s next big superstar

Arsenal new signing and defender Riccardo Calafiori has opened up on who at the Emirates Stadium is going to be the next big superstar.

Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori has heaped praise on teenager Ethan Nwaneri, labeling him a “pure talent” after the youngster scored his first Premier League goal in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest. Nwaneri, aged just 17 years and 247 days, became the Gunners’ second-youngest Premier League goalscorer, leaving fans and teammates in awe of his potential.

When asked if he had ever seen a better youngster than Nwaneri, Calafiori was unequivocal in his response: “No, I don’t think so. I’ve never seen it. He can be really good. I’m really happy for him. He really deserved his goal. For me, he is a pure talent, and for sure, you will see more from him on the pitch.”

Nwaneri’s rise has been meteoric, with his goal against Forest cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting prospects in English football. Calafiori also highlighted the supportive environment at Arsenal, which has been instrumental in nurturing young players like Nwaneri.

“Yes, senior players are helping the youngsters settle, but they don’t even need it because they feel a part of us from the first day,” Calafiori explained. “I felt the same when I came here. This is our secret.”

The Italian defender’s comments underline the unity and culture within the Arsenal squad, which has enabled young talents to thrive. Nwaneri’s confidence on the pitch and seamless integration into the senior team are testaments to this nurturing environment.
