Mikel Arteta reveals Arsenal’s injury updates ahead of their match against Southampton

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has offered a glimmer of hope for the return of Jurrien Timber and Ben White, hinting at their potential involvement in the upcoming Premier League clash against Southampton.

Speaking to the media at the club’s training ground in Colney, Arteta provided a cautious but optimistic update on the injury status of the two defenders. “There is a decision to make this afternoon,” he said. “They are close, Tomiyasu as well.”

The news of their potential return will come as a welcome boost for Arsenal, who have been without Timber and White for some time.

Their absence has forced Arteta to make adjustments to his defense, While the replacement players have performed admirably, the return of Timber and White would provide Arteta with much-needed depth and competition in his backline.

The decision on their availability will likely hinge on their fitness progress and Arteta’s assessment of their ability to contribute to the match against Southampton. With the Gunners currently in third place in the Premier League table, Arteta will be hoping to have his full squad available to maintain their strong start to the season.
