Premier League legend compares current star to likes of De Bruyne and Silva

Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard has been lauded by former Premier League star Yaya Toure, who believes the Norwegian midfielder is on par with some of the league’s most celebrated talents.

Toure, known for his own illustrious midfield career, particularly at Manchester City, specifically compared Ødegaard to David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.

“Martin Ødegaard from Arsenal – he is so skillful,” Toure stated during an interview with FUTBIN. “He is close to players like David Silva & Kevin De Bruyne. He has been doing so fantastic & he has been doing it consistently for many years.”

The high praise from a midfield maestro like Toure is a testament to Ødegaard’s growing influence at Arsenal. The 24-year-old has consistently impressed with his vision, passing range, and technical ability, quickly becoming a vital part of Arteta’s team.

Ødegaard’s performances have earned him the captain’s armband, demonstrating Arteta’s faith in his leadership qualities. This season, he has continued to shine, leading Arsenal to a strong start, with the club currently sitting in fourth place in the Premier League table.

Toure’s comparison to Silva and De Bruyne, both renowned for their artistry and creativity in midfield, underlines Ødegaard’s potential to reach the very top of the game. As he continues to develop, Ødegaard could be poised to become one of the Premier League’s most influential midfielders.
