Arsenal fans receive an update on reported David Raya injury

Arsenal have received a boost ahead of their crucial Premier League clash with Leicester City on Saturday, with reports suggesting that goalkeeper David Raya’s knock sustained during the draw with Manchester City is not serious.

Raya, who joined the Gunners on loan from Brentford this summer, put in a stellar performance against City, making two crucial saves to deny Josko Gvardiol and seemingly secure a victory for Arsenal. However, he sustained a minor injury in the latter stages of the match, raising concerns about his availability for the upcoming games.

While the injury is not considered serious, it’s understood that the Spaniard is likely to be rested for Arsenal’s Carabao Cup third-round match against Bolton on Wednesday. This decision is a precautionary measure to ensure Raya is fully recovered for the crucial league encounter against Leicester.

With Aaron Ramsdale sidelined due to a long-term injury, Raya’s return for the Leicester match is a welcome piece of news for manager Mikel Arteta. The Gunners are currently fourth in the Premier League table with 11 points from five games and will be looking to maintain their momentum against a resurgent Leicester side.

Raya’s return will bolster Arsenal’s chances of securing a crucial victory. His performance against City demonstrated his quality, and his presence between the sticks will be vital for the Gunners as they look to continue their strong start to the season.
