REVEALED: Arsenal owner’s thoughts on the upcoming 2024/25 season

Arsenal owner Josh Kroenke is reportedly privately confident that his club can give Manchester City a more formidable challenge for the Premier League title this season.

According to the Daily Mail, Kroenke has noticed a trend in his American sports teams, where a period of near-misses often precedes a breakthrough moment of silverware. Having witnessed this pattern in the past, he believes Arsenal’s recent near-misses in the title race against City could be a precursor to success.

The Gunners have narrowly missed out on the Premier League title in the last two seasons, losing out to City on both occasions despite leading the table for much of the campaign. However, Kroenke’s confidence stems from the fact that his teams, such as the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL, have often achieved a significant breakthrough after a series of close calls.

This optimism is fueled by the continuous evolution of the Arsenal squad under Mikel Arteta. Kroenke has consistently backed Arteta with substantial investment, and the manager has assembled a talented and cohesive team.

The signing of Riccardo Calafiori have further bolstered the squad, adding quality and depth to a key area. This proactive approach has instilled a belief within the club that they can finally break Manchester City’s dominance and lift the Premier League trophy.

While confidence is high, the challenge remains substantial. Manchester City has set a high benchmark, but Arsenal’s ambition, investment, and growing belief in their own abilities suggest they are ready to compete at the highest level.
