Arsenal set their asking price for Aaron Ramsdale

In a move that could potentially shake up the goalkeeping landscape in the Premier League, Southampton are reportedly weighing up a move for Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale, as per recent reports from The Sun.

Ramsdale, who joined the Gunners in a £30 million deal from Sheffield United in 2021, has found himself in a battle for the starting spot at the Emirates Stadium after the arrival of David Raya last summer. The 25-year-old English goalkeeper was the club’s first-choice keeper for the majority of the 2022/23 season but lost his place to Raya towards the end of the campaign.

Now, with Ramsdale set to return from international duty at the Euro 2024 tournament, Southampton are said to be prepared to step up their interest in securing his services.

Should Ramsdale decide to leave Arsenal this summer, the North London club would prefer a permanent deal rather than a loan arrangement. The Gunners are believed to be seeking a fee close to the £30 million they paid for the goalkeeper two years ago.

The potential move to Southampton could present Ramsdale with a chance to secure regular first-team football and continue his development as a top-level goalkeeper. The Saints, in turn, would be acquiring a talented shot-stopper who has already proven his abilities at the Premier League level.

As the transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on the developments surrounding Ramsdale’s future, with both Arsenal and Southampton eager to secure the best outcome for their respective clubs.
