Sambi Lokonga’s future at Arsenal receives a new twist

Sevilla FC are reportedly in talks with Arsenal over a loan deal for midfielder Sambi Lokonga, according to Spanish sources. The 24-year-old Belgian international spent last season on loan at Luton Town, seeking more consistent playing time after struggling to break into Mikel Arteta’s plans at the Emirates.

Despite returning to North London this summer, Lokonga’s future appears to lie away from Arsenal. He doesn’t seem to feature in Arteta’s vision for the upcoming season, prompting a search for another loan move.

Sevilla, known for their ability to develop young talent, could provide an ideal platform for Lokonga to regain his form and confidence. The La Liga side are looking to bolster their midfield options, and Lokonga’s technical skills and athleticism could make him a valuable addition to their squad.

While no agreement has been reached yet, the potential loan move would benefit both clubs. Arsenal would see their player gain valuable experience in a competitive league, while Sevilla would get a talented midfielder to bolster their squad. It remains to be seen whether a deal can be struck, but the rumors suggest Lokonga’s time in North London might be coming to a temporary end.
