Saliba speaks out on whether he’s speaking to Arsenal teammates during EUROS

While many players maintain contact across national team lines during international tournaments, Arsenal’s William Saliba has adopted a different approach during Euro 2024. The young defender has made it clear that his focus is solely on France’s pursuit of European glory, revealing he’s put club allegiances aside for the time being.

“I haven’t spoken to anyone from Arsenal. I will leave them be for the tournament,” Saliba stated plainly to the media.

This decisive stance underscores Saliba’s commitment to Les Bleus and his desire to fully immerse himself in the national team environment. Rather than dividing his attention, he’s chosen to compartmentalize, dedicating himself entirely to the French camp.

He even extended this separation to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, adding, “The coach is on vacation, you have to leave him alone. I already see my teammates enough during the season.”

This break, however, doesn’t stem from any lack of support from his Arsenal peers. Saliba stressed, “My France teammates are giving me enough support.”

Saliba’s words paint a picture of a focused and determined individual, prioritizing the immediate task at hand. With Euro 2024 dreams on the line, his commitment to the French cause is absolute. This unwavering dedication to the national team will undoubtedly please French supporters, as Saliba aims to solidify his place as a key figure for Les Bleus.
