Arsenal set their asking price for Emile Smith Rowe as suitors come in

As the dust settles on Arsenal’s impressive second-place finish in the 2023/24 Premier League season, the future of midfielder Emile Smith Rowe remains a subject of much speculation. The 23-year-old, hampered by persistent injuries, made just 19 appearances across all competitions last term, leaving his role at the Emirates uncertain.

According to reports from transfer news insider account Teamnewsandtix on X (formerly known as Twitter), both Fulham and Crystal Palace have expressed interest in the attacking midfielder. However, Arsenal’s valuation of Smith Rowe could present a stumbling block, with the Gunners reportedly demanding “above £40m” for the player.

This asking price might prove to be a sticking point for potential suitors, especially considering Smith Rowe’s injury history and limited playing time last season. Fulham and Palace, both looking to bolster their respective squads, may be hesitant to meet Arsenal’s valuation, particularly given the abundance of other potential midfield targets available.

The situation highlights the delicate balance between Arsenal’s desire to secure a significant fee for a player with undoubted potential and the reality of Smith Rowe’s recent struggles. Whether he remains in North London or embarks on a new chapter elsewhere, his future is likely to depend on the negotiations between Arsenal and any interested clubs, with the asking price potentially playing a decisive role in the outcome.
