Arsenal reportedly in plans to sign new winger that will pressure Bukayo Saka

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has been arguably been one of their best players in recent seasons and a report has revealed that a new winger may be signed to put pressure on their Englishman.

Arsenal are actively pursuing the signing of a winger to provide competition for Bukayo Saka, with Crystal Palace star Michael Olise emerging as a prime target. As per The Mirror, Arsenal are in a heated race with several Premier League heavyweights, including Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea, to secure Olise’s signature.

The 2023/24 season saw Arsenal finish in a commendable 2nd place with 89 points, just behind Manchester City, who clinched the title with 91 points. Despite their strong performance, Arsenal are eager to strengthen their squad, particularly in the attacking department, to maintain their competitiveness in the upcoming season. Michael Olise’s impressive form for Crystal Palace has caught their eye. The young winger netted 10 goals and provided 6 assists in the past season, showcasing his ability to make a significant impact in the Premier League.

Arsenal reportedly holds an edge in the pursuit of Olise, as the player is keen on playing Champions League football. This aligns well with Arsenal’s ambitions, given their qualification for the prestigious tournament following their strong league finish. Olise’s desire to compete at the highest level in Europe could be a decisive factor in Arsenal’s favor as they look to bolster their attacking options.

Mikel Arteta’s strategy to introduce more competition for Bukayo Saka is indicative of his broader plan to build a squad with depth and quality across all positions. Saka has been a standout performer for Arsenal, but the addition of Olise would not only provide valuable cover but also push Saka to maintain his high standards.

Securing Olise’s signature would be a significant coup for Arsenal, demonstrating their intent to challenge for top honors domestically and in Europe. With multiple top clubs interested in the talented winger, Arsenal will need to act swiftly and decisively to bring Olise to the Emirates Stadium. The coming weeks will be crucial as the transfer window opens and negotiations intensify.
