Arteta speaks out on an incredible achievement that Arsenal has achieved

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has lauded his team’s defensive prowess after their 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers saw them achieve a remarkable feat: six consecutive clean sheets away from home in the Premier League. This impressive accomplishment is a testament to the Gunners’ organization, discipline, and commitment to defending as a unit.

Reflecting on the achievement, Arteta acknowledged its difficulty and rarity: “Very difficult [to achieve], I don’t know when it’s the last time it was done, but I imagine it wasn’t recently because it’s extremely difficult to do that.” He praised his players for their dedication and understanding: “Credit to the boys for the level of organisation, for the understanding and especially for the love they show while defending.”

The Spaniard also highlighted the importance of a solid defensive foundation in providing a platform for success: “and the platform it gives to the team to win football matches.” Arsenal’s recent defensive masterclasses have indeed laid the groundwork for their impressive run of form, propelling them to the top of the Premier League table.

With a crucial London derby against Chelsea on the horizon, Arsenal’s defensive solidity will once again be put to the test. However, Arteta’s men have demonstrated their ability to shut down opponents, both at home and away, providing them with a strong foundation as they continue their pursuit of the Premier League title.
