Arsenal makes huge step in protecting Saka from targeted unfair tackles in games

Arsenal has reportedly taken a firm stance against what they perceive as the rough treatment of their young star, Bukayo Saka, by opponents during Premier League matches. According to the Daily Mail, the club has formally registered a complaint with the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) regarding the treatment Saka has been subjected to on the pitch.

The crux of Arsenal’s complaint revolves around what they view as an accumulation of incidents where Saka has been on the receiving end of what they consider to be excessive and unpunished challenges from opposing players. Arsenal contends that opponents have been allowed to subject Saka to robust challenges without facing the appropriate repercussions during Premier League encounters.

In response, Arsenal has advocated for a proactive approach from match officials in ensuring Saka’s protection on the field. Specifically, the club has articulated their belief that referees should be prompt in issuing a yellow card to offenders following the first significant foul committed against Saka, rather than waiting for a subsequent infringement to take action.

Saka’s importance to Arsenal’s playing style and tactical approach has been widely acknowledged, and the club’s vocal stance on this issue underscores their commitment to safeguarding the well-being of their players. The formal complaint serves as a tangible demonstration of Arsenal’s determination to uphold the welfare of their rising star and address what they perceive as an imbalance in the officiating of matches involving Saka.
