David Raya speaks out on stealing Ramsdale’s position and Arteta

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has expressed his gratitude to manager Mikel Arteta for giving him the opportunity to be the team’s first-choice goalkeeper this season. Raya, who joined Arsenal from Brentford in the summer, has taken over the role from Aaron Ramsdale and has been in impressive form for the Gunners.

“It is a privilege to be a starter at Arsenal and come here. It is a gift that Mikel Arteta has given me. I am happy and grateful,” Raya said.

Arsenal are currently in 3rd position on the Premier League table with 27 points in this 2023/24 campaign. Their recent game was a Premier League match against Burnley at the Emirates Stadium, which ended 3-1 in favor of the Gunners. Their next game will be up against Brentford in the Premier League at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 25th, Nov. 2023 after the international break.

Raya’s performances have been crucial to Arsenal’s success this season, and his shot-stopping ability and command of his area have earned him plaudits from fans and pundits alike. With Raya between the sticks, Arsenal have looked solid defensively and have been able to grind out results even when not playing at their best.

As Arsenal look to continue their strong start to the season, Raya will be hoping to maintain his form and help his team push for a top-four finish in the Premier League. His gratefulness towards Arteta reflects his determination to make the most of this opportunity at a top club like Arsenal.
