Arteta provides an injury update on Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on the injuries of Emile Smith Rowe and Thomas Partey, stating that there is a possibility of them returning to the fold before the January break. Both players have been sidelined with injuries, leaving a void in the Arsenal squad.

Speaking to reporters, Arteta said, “It is a possibility but it will depend on how they evolve. Emile has been already on the pitch doing some jogging, so I don’t know how long it’s going to take. Normally he is a quick healer, and Thomas is the same. We have to make sure that when they come back they are at their best as well. We don’t want to rush them, but at the same time the team needs them because at the moment we are missing some key, key players.”

Arsenal are currently sitting in 1st position on the Premier League table with 30 points after 13 league games in this 2023/24 campaign. Their recent game was a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Brentford away from home. The team’s next challenge will be against Lens in the UEFA Champions League at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday 29th November 2023.

The return of Smith Rowe and Partey would be a major boost for Arsenal as they look to maintain their position at the top of the table and continue their strong performances in both domestic and European competitions. Fans will be eagerly awaiting their return as Arteta and his team aim for success this season.
