Arsenal reportedly to make £60million striker signing in January transfer window

Arsenal will be looking to bolster their squad in the January transfer window and the gunners will reportedly try to sign a £60million rated striker.

Arsenal are reportedly increasing their interest in Ivan Toney as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the January transfer window in 2024. The Gunners are said to be keen on the Brentford striker, who has been in impressive form in recent seasons.

According to The Mirror, Brentford are willing to sell Toney but will demand a hefty fee of at least £60 million for the player. This price tag reflects the striker’s potential and his impressive goal-scoring record in the Premier League.

Last season, Toney netted an impressive 20 goals and provided 4 assists in the top flight. His performances caught the attention of several clubs, including Arsenal, who are now stepping up their pursuit of the talented forward.

However, there may be a potential stumbling block in the negotiations. Toney has not featured in the current season due to a ban imposed on him for admitting to 232 breaches of the Football Association’s betting rules. The ban is set to end in January 2024, which coincides with the opening of the transfer window.

Despite this setback, Arsenal are reportedly undeterred and are considering the possibility of including Eddie Nketiah in a potential deal. Nketiah, who is currently part of Arsenal’s squad, could be used as a makeweight in the transfer, reducing the financial burden on the Gunners.

The addition of Toney to Arsenal’s attacking options would provide a significant boost to the team. With his goal-scoring prowess and ability to create opportunities for his teammates, Toney could be a valuable asset as Arsenal looks to challenge for silverware.

As the January transfer window approaches, Arsenal will be hoping to secure Toney’s services and strengthen their squad for the remainder of the season. The Gunners are keen to build on their positive start to the campaign and continue their pursuit of success in both domestic and European competitions.

Only time will tell if Arsenal can meet Brentford’s demanding price tag for Toney and if a deal can be reached. Nonetheless, the Gunners are determined to reinforce their squad and make a statement in the transfer market.
