Arsenal youngster Sambi Lokonga has joined Premier League side Luton Town on a loan deal for the 2023/24 season. The Belgium international midfielder, known as Sambi, featured 15 times for Arsenal in all competitions last season, starting every game in their successful Europa League group stage campaign. He then joined Crystal Palace on loan for the second half of the season, making nine appearances and impressing in the centre of the park.
Sambi’s loan move follows a promising debut season with Arsenal in 2021/22, where he played 24 times in all competitions, including 12 of their first 13 Premier League matches. He also made his senior international debut for Belgium during that time.
Before joining Arsenal in July 2021, Sambi spent over a decade with Belgian side Anderlecht. He made his first-team debut at the age of 18 in December 2017 and went on to represent his hometown club 78 times in all competitions.
Arsenal expressed their best wishes to Sambi for the upcoming season with Luton Town. The loan move will provide him with valuable playing time and experience as he continues to develop his skills.
