New signing David Raya reveals reason why he will be successful at Arsenal

Arsenal announced the signing of David Raya today in the afternoon and the Spaniard has revealed the reason why he will be successful at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have made a significant addition to their squad with the signing of goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford. The 27-year-old Spaniard has expressed his belief that he will be successful at the Emirates Stadium, citing the impact of manager Mikel Arteta and the team’s style of play as key factors.

Raya, who joins Arsenal on an initial £3 million loan deal with an option to buy for £27 million, is set to compete with Aaron Ramsdale for the starting goalkeeper position. With his arrival, Arsenal now have two talented shot-stoppers vying for the number one spot.

In an interview with Arsenal media, Raya spoke highly of Arteta and his influence on the club’s playing style. He said, “I’ve seen Arsenal a lot for a lot of years and since [Mikel Arteta] came he’s made a massive difference to the style of play and to the club.”

Under Arteta’s guidance, Arsenal have adopted a possession-based approach that emphasizes playing out from the back. Raya believes that this style suits him perfectly and will enable him to contribute effectively to the team. He stated, “The way the team plays out of the back, being confident and taking possession to the other team is the main thing why I fit into the team.”

Raya’s ability to distribute the ball accurately and confidently from deep positions will undoubtedly be an asset for Arsenal. His comfort on the ball allows him to act as an additional outfield player during build-up play, helping his team maintain possession and launch attacks from deep.

The goalkeeper is eager to make a positive impact at his new club and is determined to contribute in any way possible. He said, “I’m going to try and help as much as possible and we’ll see what happens.”

Raya’s arrival adds further competition in goal for Arsenal, with Ramsdale already proving himself as a promising young talent between the sticks. The battle for the starting position will undoubtedly push both goalkeepers to improve and raise their game, ultimately benefiting the team as a whole.

With Raya’s signing, Arsenal have strengthened their squad depth and added another quality option in an important position. The competition for the goalkeeper spot will provide healthy competition and ensure that the team has a reliable last line of defense.

As Arsenal continue to rebuild under Arteta’s guidance, Raya’s arrival is another step towards building a competitive squad capable of challenging for silverware. With his confidence on the ball and ability to fit into the team’s playing style, Raya has all the ingredients to succeed at the Emirates Stadium.
