Arsenal star likely to make move to Newcastle United before end of transfer window

The new season might have already started but the summer transfer window is still on and a new report has revealed that an Arsenal star could join Newcastle United in the next few weeks.

Newcastle United are reportedly in the market for a left-back before the close of the summer transfer window, with Kieran Tierney emerging as a potential target. According to The Telegraph, Arsenal is keen to find a move for the 25-year-old Scottish international, and while they would prefer to sell him outright, a compromise could be reached that would defer the fee for another 12 months.

Last season, Tierney made only six starts in the Premier League for Arsenal, as manager Mikel Arteta often preferred Oleksandr Zinchenko in the left-back position. This limited game time has led to speculation about his future at the club, with Newcastle now showing interest in securing his services on loan.

Newcastle’s pursuit of Tierney is not surprising given their need for reinforcements in defense. A loan move for Tierney could provide them with a temporary solution while also helping them navigate Financial Fair Play (FFP) concerns.

The FFP regulations limit clubs’ spending based on their revenue, and Newcastle’s recent takeover by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has raised questions about their ability to comply with these rules. By deferring the fee for Tierney’s loan deal, Newcastle could spread out their financial commitments and ease any potential FFP concerns.

However, due to the complex nature of this deal, it may have to wait until closer to deadline day before any agreement is reached. Both Arsenal and Newcastle will need to negotiate terms that suit all parties involved and ensure that Tierney’s loan move benefits everyone.

For Arsenal, offloading Tierney on loan could free up space in their squad and potentially generate funds for other transfers. Meanwhile, Newcastle would gain an experienced left-back who can provide stability and quality at the back.

Tierney himself may also benefit from a loan move away from Arsenal. With limited game time last season, a temporary switch to Newcastle could offer him the opportunity to regain his form and confidence. Playing regularly in the Premier League would allow him to showcase his abilities and potentially attract interest from other clubs in the future.

As the summer transfer window draws to a close, all eyes will be on Newcastle United’s pursuit of Kieran Tierney. If a deal can be reached, it could provide a much-needed boost for both the player and the club. However, negotiations may take time, and fans will have to wait patiently for any official announcement regarding Tierney’s potential move to St James’ Park.
