Arteta finally responds to question on whether he will sell Kieran Tierney

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has openly finally revealed whether the gunners will sell Kieran Tierney in this summer transfer window.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has finally put an end to weeks of speculation by confirming that Kieran Tierney is indeed part of his plans for the upcoming season. The Scottish international, who made only six starts in the Premier League last season, has been a subject of much debate regarding his future at the club.

Arteta’s statement came after Tierney’s impressive performance in a recent pre-season match. The manager praised the left-back, stating that he has consistently performed well whenever given the opportunity during pre-season. This, according to Arteta, is why he wants to create healthy competition within the team and raise the level of each individual player.

“He is in our plans,” Arteta said as per Football.London when asked about Tierney’s future. “He came on really well [on Saturday] – it’s not the first time, every time he’s played in pre-season, he’s been really good. This is why we want to create competition in the team, raise the level of each individual & that’s going to be a huge benefit for the team to get to another level.”

Last season, Tierney faced stiff competition from Oleksandr Zinchenko for the left-back position. As a result, he was limited to just six starts in the Premier League. However, with Arteta now confirming his place in the squad for next season, it seems that Tierney will have a chance to prove himself and establish himself as a regular starter.

The 25-year-old joined Arsenal from Celtic in 2019 and has shown glimpses of his potential during his time at the club. Known for his attacking prowess and defensive solidity, Tierney possesses all the qualities required to excel as a modern-day full-back.

With Arteta’s emphasis on creating competition within the squad and raising individual levels, it is clear that he believes Tierney can contribute significantly to Arsenal’s success next season. The manager’s decision also highlights his trust in the player’s abilities and his desire to see him reach another level.

Tierney’s inclusion in Arteta’s plans will undoubtedly be a boost for the player himself, as well as for Arsenal fans who have been eagerly awaiting his breakthrough. The left-back now has the opportunity to prove his worth and cement his place in the starting lineup.

As Arsenal prepares for the new season, Arteta’s confirmation of Tierney’s involvement is a positive sign. The competition within the team will not only push Tierney to improve but also raise the overall performance levels of the entire squad. With a renewed sense of purpose and determination, Tierney will be eager to make an impact and help Arsenal achieve their goals in the upcoming campaign.
