Arsenal start steps to sign 4th summer signing as target rejects Bayern for gunners

Arsenal are not done yet in this summer transfer window and the gunners have started steps to get their fourth signing after he rejects move to Bayern Munich

Arsenal are reportedly exploring a potential deal to sign Notyin goalkeeper David Raya, according to  The Athletic. While no bid has been made yet, Brentford FC is said to be aware of Arsenal’s interest in the 27-year-old shot-stopper. However, they face competition from FC Bayern for Raya’s signature but luckily, the player prefers a move to the Emirates Stadium over going to Germany.

In what has been an eventful summer transfer window for Arsenal, the Gunners have already completed three signings. They secured the services of 24-year-old attacking midfielder Kai Havertz from Chelsea for a reported fee of £65 million. Additionally, they acquired 22-year-old defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax in a deal worth €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons.

David Raya

The most significant signing for Arsenal this summer was the capture of 24-year-old midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham United for a record-breaking fee of £105 million. This transfer marked the highest amount ever paid between two British clubs.

With these three signings already in the bag, Arsenal seems determined to strengthen their squad further by targeting David Raya as their next acquisition. The Spanish goalkeeper has been impressive during his time at Brentford and has caught the attention of several top clubs.

While FC Bayern is also pursuing Raya’s signature, it appears that the player himself is keen on joining Arsenal. The allure of playing for one of England’s most historic clubs and competing in European competitions could be a significant factor in his decision-making process.

Raya’s potential arrival at Arsenal would provide healthy competition for current first-choice goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

While no official bid has been made yet, the fact that Brentford is aware of Arsenal’s interest suggests that negotiations could be on the horizon. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can secure Raya’s signature ahead of FC Bayern, but the player’s desire to join the Gunners could work in their favor.

As the summer transfer window progresses, Arsenal fans will eagerly await further developments regarding potential new signings. With three players already secured, including the record-breaking transfer of Declan Rice, it seems that Arsenal is making significant strides in strengthening their squad for the upcoming season.
