Ilkay Gundogan makes a decision on whether to join Arsenal this summer

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been linked with various clubs in this summer transfer window and a report has revealed that he has made his decision.

Arsenal fans have received some bad news in this summer transfer window as their target, Ilkay Gundogan, has reportedly chosen Barcelona over the Gunners. Spanish journalist Toni Juanmarti broke the news on Twitter, stating that the German midfielder has said yes to joining the Catalan club.

Gundogan will be a free agent at the end of this month, and Manchester City is trying to extend his deal. However, Arsenal has also been pushing to sign him. The 32-year-old midfielder had an impressive season with Manchester City, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in the recently finished Premier League.

The news of Gundogan’s decision to join Barcelona will come as a blow to Arsenal fans who were hoping to see him in their team’s colors next season. The Gunners have been looking for a midfielder who can provide creativity and goals from midfield, and Gundogan seemed like an ideal fit.

However, it seems that Barcelona was able to convince Gundogan to join them instead. The Catalan club is known for its attractive style of play and has a rich history of success in European football. It is possible that these factors played a role in Gundogan’s decision.

For Arsenal, this news means that they will need to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements. The Gunners have yet to sign any player this summer but may need to sign a midfielder if Granit Xhaka leaves the club this summer.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that their team can find a suitable replacement for Gundogan before the transfer window closes. The Gunners have been linked with several other midfielders like Declan Rice of West Ham United.

In conclusion, Ilkay Gundogan’s decision to join Barcelona over Arsenal will come as a disappointment for Gunners fans. However, there are still plenty of options available for Arsenal in the transfer market, and they will need to act quickly to secure their targets before the window closes.
