Arsenal midfielder reportedly ready to make move to Lazio this summer

Arsenal will probably be one of the busiest clubs in this summer transfer window and a report has revealed one of their midfielders is leaving.

Jorginho, the 31-year-old midfielder who joined Arsenal from Chelsea just six months ago, could be leaving the club soon. According to reports, Lazio is interested in signing the player, but the costs are still challenging, and feasibility is being evaluated.

Jorginho made 14 appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League in his six months at the club and got one assist. He was a key player for Arsenal in their bid to win the 2022/23 Premier League title. The gunners were in a fierce title race with Manchester City, but a defeat against Nottingham Forest in their 37th game week saw them lose the trophy to The Citizens.

Arsenal ended the season with 84 points while Manchester City finished with 89 points. Manchester City are this year’s Premier League Champions. The gunners will have to settle for second place even though they had led the league table for ten months this season.

Jorginho’s potential departure from Arsenal could be a significant blow to the team’s midfield. He has been an essential player for Arsenal since joining from Chelsea, and his departure could leave a significant gap that would be difficult to fill.

The player ‘would not mind at all’ returning to Italy, even more so if it were Maurizio Sarri calling as per a report by Football Italia. Jorginho played under Sarri at Napoli and Chelsea and has always spoken highly of him.

Lazio is reportedly interested in signing Jorginho as they look to strengthen their midfield ahead of next season. However, it remains unclear whether they will be able to meet Arsenal’s asking price for the player.

If Jorginho does leave Arsenal this summer, it will be interesting to see how they replace him. The Gunners have been linked with several midfielders in recent weeks, including Yves Bissouma of Brighton and Hove Albion and Ruben Neves of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In conclusion, Jorginho’s potential departure from Arsenal could be a significant blow to the team’s midfield. He has been an essential player for Arsenal since joining from Chelsea, and his departure could leave a significant gap that would be difficult to fill. However, if he does leave, it will be interesting to see how Arsenal replaces him and whether they can continue their push for the Premier League title next season.
