Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is set to be rewarded with a new long-term contract after his impressive performances in the club’s surprise title charge this season. The Gunners are currently second on the 2022/23 Premier League table with 81 points after 35 games, closely following first-placed Manchester City which has 82 points plus one game in hand.
Ramsdale has been instrumental in Arsenal’s success this season, making crucial saves and keeping clean sheets in important matches. The 24-year-old joined Arsenal from Sheffield United last summer for a fee of around £24 million and has quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Despite having two years left on his present deal, Arsenal want to tie Ramsdale down to a new contract with a significant increase on his £60,000-a-week salary since he has shown to be an outstanding top six goalkeeper that deserves similar wages as those in his calibre.
Ramsdale has been praised by fans and pundits alike for his performances this season, with many tipping him for future success at both club and international level. His shot-stopping ability, command of his area, and distribution skills have all been key factors in Arsenal’s impressive form this season.
The Gunners have not won the Premier League since the 2003/04 season but are now firmly in contention for the title this year. Manager Mikel Arteta has built a strong squad with a good mix of youth and experience, and Ramsdale has been one of the standout performers.
If Arsenal can maintain their form over the remaining games of the season, they could well end their long wait for another league title. And with Ramsdale set to sign a new long-term contract, they will have secured one of their most important players for years to come.
