Manchester City reportedly looking to sign an Arsenal fan favourite player in summer

Arsenal and Manchester City might be competing for the Premier League title at the moment but current reports claim The Citizens might try to sign a fan favourite gooner of the gunners.

Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney in the upcoming summer transfer window. Football Insider has reported that the Premier League champions are actively working to find out if a deal can be done for the Scottish left-back.

Tierney has had a few chances in the Arsenal eleven in the Premier League this season since Oleksandr Zinchenko is Mikel Arteta’s first choice left-back. However, it seems that Manchester City are keen on bringing him to the Etihad Stadium as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

It is understood that Tierney is open to a move away from Arsenal, and privately, the Gunners are believed to value him at around £30million. This could prove to be a stumbling block for Manchester City, who may not be willing to pay such a high fee for the 25-year-old.

Despite this, Tierney’s performances for Arsenal have caught the eye of many top clubs around Europe. He has been one of their standout players over the last few years and has impressed with his defensive abilities as well as his attacking contributions.

If Manchester City do manage to sign Tierney, it would be a significant boost for their squad. The Scottish international would provide a lot of quality to their squad.

Moreover, Tierney’s versatility would make him an asset for Pep Guardiola’s side. He is comfortable playing in different positions across the backline and could even play as a wing-back if required.

Overall, it remains to be seen whether Manchester City will be able to strike a deal with Arsenal for Kieran Tierney. However, if they do manage to sign him, it would be another statement of intent from the Premier League champions as they look to dominate English football once again next season.
