Trossard reveals what has surprised him the most since joining Arsenal

Arsenal completed the signing of Leandro Trossard in the January transfer window and the Belgian international has revealed what has surprised him most about his time there.

Arsenal January signing Leandro Trossard has opened up about his unexpected playing time at the Emirates Stadium in his first two months at the North London club. Despite not expecting to make many minutes, injuries have helped him get more playing time than he anticipated.

The Belgian winger has been playing as a false nine for Arsenal this season due to injuries of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. Trossard has scored once and made six assists, proving to be a valuable asset to the team.

Arsenal is currently in a title race as they are first on the Premier League table with 69 points after 28 games but are closely followed by second-placed Manchester City, which has 61 points plus a game in hand. Trossard’s contribution to the team could prove crucial in their quest for the title.

Trossard expressed his satisfaction with joining Arsenal and adapting quickly to the team. He praised the group filled with great players, making it easier for new players like himself to adapt and reach their levels.

“I maybe didn’t expect to make that many minutes, but injuries helped me a bit. I’m however more than convinced of my own capabilities, I arrived in a great group, filled with great players.” Leandro Trossard told Aol.

“It was a very busy and weird period for me, but I’m very happy that I have been able to join Arsenal. I think it’s been a great step for me,” said Trossard.

The 28-year-old winger joined Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023 for a reported fee of £27 million.

Trossard’s versatility as a winger who can also play as a false nine has given Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta more options upfront. With injuries plaguing some of their key players, Trossard’s presence has been vital in keeping their title hopes alive.

As Arsenal continues its push towards the Premier League title, Trossard will undoubtedly play an essential role in their success. His ability to create chances and score goals will be crucial in securing victories against tough opponents.
