Gabriel Jesus expected to join travelling squad for Sporting CP clash

Gabriel Jesus is reportedly set to travel with the Arsenal squad for the Europa League round of 16 clash against Sporting.

Gabriel Jesus is anticipated to go to Portugal with the Arsenal team for their Europa League round of 16 match against Sporting.

Jesus underwent surgery to fix a serious knee injury sustained during the World Cup and is now looking forward to making his first appearance for the Gunners since November after completing his rehab.

However, he is unlikely to feature on Thursday as Mikel Arteta has chosen to be very cautious regarding the 25-year-old’s re-integration into the team.

The Brazilian striker will continue to ramp up preparations with the team in training and could feature before the International break. Jesus should be in pole position to reclaim his spot in the starting XI after the International break.

Gabriel Jesus’s return will be a major boost for Mikel Arteta as business end of the season approaches. Arsenal sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League with 12 games to play.
