As Arsenal prepare to face Manchester City in a crucial game, Mikel Arteta must decide who should be benched. One player who should be benched is Gabriel Martinelli.
Recent comments from pundits suggest that Martinelli has not been performing well lately, and Trossard has had an impact when he has come on. This suggests that Trossard should be given the start instead of Martinelli.
Martinelli is known for his speed, but he hasn’t had much of an impact lately and is struggling a bit. This makes it easy to see why Trossard should be given the start instead of him. Trossard has finally scored his first goal for Arsenal in their 1-1 draw with Brentford, which further strengthens the case for him to start against Manchester City.

It will be a tough decision for Arteta to make, but benching Martinelli in favour of Trossard seems like the right move at this point in time. The form of both players suggests that Trossard should get the nod ahead of Martinelli and hopefully he can help Arsenal get a positive result against Manchester City.
Martinelli is certainly blessed with plenty of pace but that attribute alone may not be enough against one of Europe’s top sides like Manchester City who have a lot of players that can be able to match his speed. Given current form and likely motivation of Arsenal needing all three points to retain their place at the top of the table, Arteta needs to bench Martinalli and play Trossard – a move which could potentially result in more firepower being unleashed in pursuit of victory at The Emirates Stadium.
