Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the situation of Manchester United superstar Marcus Rashford amid continued uncertainty over his contract. Sources have told Football Insider that the Gunners are monitoring the 25-year-old forward’s situation at Old Trafford, with his current deal set to expire in June 2024.
The Red Devils triggered Rashford’s 12-month extension clause recently, but he is still only contracted until June 2024. This has led to speculation that Arsenal could make a move for the England international, with Mikel Arteta having registered his interest with the player’s camp last year.
Manchester United have no intention of selling Rashford at this stage as they believe he has the potential to get even better. The club are keen to tie him down to a long-term contract and have already opened talks over a new deal. However, it remains unclear whether they will be able to agree terms with him before his current deal expires in 2024.
If Manchester United fail to reach an agreement with Rashford before then, Arsenal could be ready to pounce and make their move for him. The Gunners have been impressed by Rashford’s performances since Arteta took charge and believe he would be an ideal addition to their squad.
Rashford has scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions this season, helping Manchester United challenge for the Premier League title and reach the final of the Carabao Cup.
Given his impressive form and potential, it is no surprise that Arsenal are monitoring Rashford’s situation closely ahead of a possible move next summer (2024). Whether they will be able to convince him to leave Old Trafford remains to be seen, but it is clear that they are keeping tabs on one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards.
