Arsenal completed the signing of Jorginho in the 2023 January transfer window from Chelsea and the 31 year old Italian has spoken out on his past fights with Granit Xhaka who is now his teammate. Jorginho had a few run-ins with Xhaka during his time at Chelsea, but he is now looking forward to a better relationship with his new teammate.
“Yes I’m happy, we had a few fights on the pitch before but outside the pitch he’s a really nice guy and we have good laughs now,” said Jorginho as per beIN sports when asked about his relationship with Xhaka. “Outside the pitch I asked him the other day where I could go for dinner around here and he booked me and didn’t let me pay so thanks very much for that.”
Jorginho is looking forward to his new chapter at Arsenal and he is hoping to put his past disagreements with Xhaka behind him. He has already seen how friendly Xhaka can be off the pitch and is looking forward to forming a strong bond with him over time. The two players have already started to build a friendship off the field and this could help them form an effective partnership on it.

Jorginho’s arrival at Arsenal has added some much needed experience to their midfield, as well as some creativity going forward. He is expected to link up well with Xhaka in midfield, providing Arsenal with an effective double pivot in front of their defence. With both players having plenty of experience in top level football, they should be able to form an effective partnership that will help Arsenal challenge for major honours this season.
