BREAKING: Arsenal reportedly plan shock signing of Jorginho

Arsenal are interested in signing a new midfielder in this January transfer window and the gunners are considering to sign Chelsea's Jorginho.

Arsenal are among the clubs exploring the possibility of signing Jorginho from Chelsea. The Italy midfielder’s contract is up in the summer and Chelsea are open to his exit, although this may depend on the arrival of Enzo Fernandez as per The Athletic.

The 31-year-old is one of a number of options Arsenal have expressed an interest in, with manager Mikel Arteta keen to strengthen his midfield options. Jorginho has been a regular for Chelsea since joining from Napoli in 2018, making over 140 appearances for the club.

Jorginho’s ability to control possession and dictate play from deep makes him an attractive option for Arsenal, who have struggled to find some players that could come in in midfield this season if either Thomas Partey or Granit Xhaka gets injured. His experience at the highest level could also be invaluable for a young Arsenal side looking to challenge for honours this season.

The Gunners have already made moves to strengthen their attack with the signing of Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion and bringing Jakub Kiwior to improve their defence, but they are still looking for more depth and quality in the midfield area.

Many Arsenal supporters believe this pursuit of Jorginho could be Arsenal’s plan B if their move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo does not work out.
