Arsenal appointed Mikel Arteta as their new manager in 2019 after they dismissed Unai Emery and the Spaniard was a complete nobody in managerial terms since he had yet to coach any club aside from being one of the assistant coaches of Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium. A new report has now claimed that Arsenal might have to work hard to keep Mikel Arteta as some top European club is interested in him.
Mikel Arteta has been on a steady climb of building his reputation in the world of football mangers and this all started with him leading the gunners to a record 14th FA Cup trophy and while the gunners did stumble last season, they still finished fifth on the Premier League table hence gaining European football.
Arsenal have been even more impressive this season as they are currently first on the Premier League table after having only drawn once and lost once since the season begun in August and a new report by Spanish source Sport claims that Barcelona are interested in making Mikel Arteta their next manager since they have been getting poor results under Xavi in the last few weeks.
The report does however say that Barcelona are at the moment not trying to bring in Mikel Arteta in for Xavi but that they have for now put his name in their list of people that they will look at when the time is right.
